HandyTube was a key note speaker at Steel Business System Meeting, Las Vegas, on Jan 2017
Steel Partners held its Annual Steel Business Systems Meeting from January 10th -11th, at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, NV. Nearly 90 Steel Partners guests from different companies participated in the event.
The Steel Partners Business System is at the heart of HandyTube’s lean manufacturing improvement methodology. On Wednesday, January 11th, Gabrielle Doyon, Lean Engineer, and Michael Bauman, Sales & Operations Planning Manager, delivered an inspirational presentation sharing best practices from HandyTube with other Steel Partners businesses. Doyon and Bauman shared the process used in their 2016 Kaizen Event to reduce WIP (“Work in Process”) inventory and improve flow in manufacturing. Their efforts in this event led not only to reduced manufacturing cycle times, decreased need to hold stock material, and increased flexibility, but also increased employee engagement. Doyon and Bauman received enthusiastic applause both for their performance on stage and at the facility.
